I’m trying to get caught up on some blogging I’m way behind on, so finally getting some of Allie and Mike’s photos up on the bloggity. We had a fun time celebrating with Allie and Mike and the high gravity beer seemed to be a hit, although I had to stay sober since I was actually supposed to working this celebration.

I was privileged enough to be able to celebrate Dawn and Brad’s wedding day with them last month. This was the first wedding that I knew either the bride or groom before hand. I had worked with Dawn as a model previously, but she is photographer as well. The added bonus was that it was at the beach in Florida and we had great weather, so it couldn’t have been a better day!
Here are a few shots from the day….being photographers themselves, Dawn and Brad opted for a “first look” option instead of waiting until the ceremony to see each other for the first time. This gives the photographers the ability to have more time with the bride and groom to get more diverse photographs. The bride and groom also get the “first look” time as a more private special moment with the just the two of them (and the photographers
) to share the moment.

Amazing! Today was the last day of my 365 project! Can’t believe a whole year has gone by since I started this thing! Thanks to Tasra Dawson and the challenge she put out for people to join her in this 365 challenge! I’ve learned a lot over the last year about my camera, taking better pictures and developing my “eye” to be more creative in my photos. I’ve shot several weddings with some fellow photogs, shot portraits, Bar-Mitzvah and of course a lot of models.
I asked a few of them to help me get my last photo(s) for the challenge. Thanks to all you who read my post and made some comments along the way!!

The weather was nice here in Atlanta today, lower humidity and temperature was a nice change from what we’ve been having most of the summer! Hopefully will stay this way for a while! Got some shots of the nice blue sky with a few fluffy clouds today to show the change in weather.
I was able to celebrate with Jonathon and his Bar-Mitzvah today! It was my first time shooting a Bar-Mitzvah, and I found it similar in a lot of ways to a Jewish wedding which I have done before. I had taken some portraits of Jonathon earlier in the week that were used for an album as well as a large portrait that was setup to the entrance to the room where the party was so that friend and family could write their well-wishes around the edge of the portrait. It was fun afternoon, Jonathon’s mom was a little stressed since she was doing all the organizing, but I think everything turned out well in the end.

Had a fun time shooting with Carrie Anne for a bridal shoot today! She was a ton of fun with lots of personality and playfulness which always makes the shoot fun! It was tough to choose just one shot from the day, but I decided to go with this more classic pose and look which I converted to black and white.

I was charging batteries in preparation for a shoot on Saturday….as well as charging my own battery after the long week just chilling and watching the Creative Live Jastmine Star wedding that was being broadcast live over the internet from the Seattle area. Great wedding and learned a lot from the whole workshop!

I’ve been watching some of the Creative Live broadcast of Jasmine Star‘s workshop on wedding photography where they planned, prepared and are going to shoot on Friday an actual wedding…all done in about 4 weeks. If you have time, watch the wedding or you can buy the whole recording of the five day event as well to support future free broadcast’s like this. I know the shot isn’t that creative, but I took a picture of my computer screen during the broadcast for today’s photo.
Went out for a friend’s surprise birthday party but wanted to get my photo for the day before hand. Luckily this train came by at an opportune moment to use for my photo today.
